I modify the script by finding the version I want, filling in the variables, then running the script. How much space do you have? I have an old computer running 32 bit PCLinuxOS with Firefox 60.4.0esr (32-bit).įor that unit I run the portable version built using the script found at I thought I had read a similar topic before and did some searching but could not find anything relevant. I tried the K web browser but it also has issues because it too is old. I also wonder if there would be other issues with just upgrading Firefox ie pre-request issues with the nucleus or something else? I only use the Notebook to use Firefox so I can get to my email. Since I have only ever used Synaptic then I would need some basic step by step help, back to basics I guess. I have read lots of items saying 'do not do this' but if there's a way I would like to give it a try. I was wondering what the process would be to upgrade Firefox 32bit standalone without Synaptic. The last time I used it, I had some issues with Firefox because it is an old version. I only use it when I go away as it is small and easy to carry. I have plans to get rid of it but still need it for awhile. I have an old Notebook which is still running an old 32bit version of PCLinuxOS.
